This annual event takes place on June 13th from 9AM – 4PM at the Mendon Ponds Park Beach Area. The Expo is hosted by The Genesee Valley Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club. RBC will be one of many outdoor recreation organizations to participate in the Expo.
What's Involved?
Volunteers may choose to assist during the morning (8:30 - Noon), afternoon (Noon - 4), or for the entire day.
Morning volunteers should plan on arriving by 8:30 for set up, which entails setting up the RBC canopy and information/brochure table. Canopy, table and printed materials will be made available prior to the event. Instruction re: tent set-up and take-down to be provided, as needed.
Afternoon volunteers will need to take down the canopy and pack any left over printed materials for return.
Volunteers can expect to receive a good deal of foot traffic throughout the Expo. Volunteers should feel comfortable sharing basic information about the club and it's activities, how to join the club, etc. and have basic familiarity with the printed materials on display.
