On-the-Road Repairs Clinic
ion:When it comes to bike problems, RBC has seen it all. While some things can't be fixed/worked-around on the road, there are many that can!
Beyond flats & tire cuts, the next most common failures are: 1) broken shift cable, 2) broken chain, and 3) broken spoke. Even if you don't feel comfortable doing the repair yourself, it is worth understanding fixes and carrying a few small items so that someone else can help.
There is no charge but in order to attend, you must register.
Date & Time:
Thursday July 18 6:30PM- 8:30 PM
Location:Veterans Memorial Park Open Shelter 3100 Atlantic Ave, Penfield
We will camp overnight at Green Lakes for two nights. We currently have some sites in the "Rolling Hills" area and again, if you would like to share a site that may be an option or you can book your own site. On Sunday Aug 11 we will ride a lightened bike to Verona and back to Green Lakes SP. On Monday, the third day, we will pack up camp and ride, with our gear, back to Port Byron.
Each day is 48 miles on the Empire State Trail. This is mostly off-road with a bit of road. We have some sites reserved at Green Lakes SP which can be shared, or else people can book their own site.
Andrew Spiller Rides and Club Picnic
Saturday, Aug 17, 2023
This is a day where you can challenge yourself or just enjoy a beautiful ride... any length you want. Rides (9:00, 10:00, 10:30 and 11:00) will be followed by a picnic gathering at Victor Municipal Park - the open shelter. The club will provide soft drinks, water, hot dogs, rolls and condiments. Bring a dish to pass, a lawn chair, alternative beverage if desired. The 5 and 10 table will be set up. If you wish, you can bring jerseys or cycling gear to pass on to others free or at a super low price. RBC club jerseys will be available for purchase. If you are coming for the picnic only, arrive anytime after noon. Grilling will start a bit later - when most have returned from the rides. Group ride details including maps and routes will be posted on RBC Meetup.

We currently have a few non electric sites booked in the Creek Side Loop but they have electric sites as well if you are interested. Sharing a site may be an option else you can book your own site as well. The campground has very good reviews with a lot of amenities, clean bathrooms/hot showers, and lots of hiking and biking within the park itself.
On Sunday we will ride approximately 40-50 miles on the Hudson Valley Greenway Trail. On Monday we will pack up camp and do some of the Erie Canalway trail from the Albany area (going west from Albany) before heading home.
The RBC Fall Banquet will be held on November 9th (6:00 PM) at Glendoveers at 2328 Old Browncroft Rd. (map)
This social event is a great way to catch up with others, and meet other RBC members. A cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres will be followed by a buffet dinner.
If you were a volunteer in 2024, you get in free, but we encourage ALL members to come at a very reasonable ticket price. This is one of the best parties that RBC has.
